Day 13 and 14!

nfs

nfs

I'm getting caught up!
I'm still working with acrylics and am just exploring the colors
and how the paint
works so these are just studies.
The abstract was done partly with a palette and they're both on paper.
Well, I had a bad thing happen today,
or at least I just found out about it. Quite a few Chinese websites stole my work
without my permission and looks like they're trying to sell it. I can't read what it says though
and at least they're nice enough to put my name on it!
Apparently, there's nothing that can be done about it
but it's another good reason not to buy anything made form China, which seems to be almost everything. Imagine how many jobs we would have here!

Oh my goodness Jennifer ..... how upsetting. I'd be really annoyed ..... but, as you can't do anything about it, perhaps the best way to go is to be flattered !!
..... and, I can see why they stole your work. Your new pieces are brilliant and so different to your previous paintings. I like the fact that you've mixed it up ! XXXX

Oh no! That is not right and I am so sorry about it. Btw: I am in love with the colours in the first piece. Swoonworthy! Kisses, lovely.

Oh my goodness Jennifer. How did you find out about it? I've been told I should watermark all my art, but I've heard they can just take it off anyways, so I don't do it because it's a hassle anyways with Picassa.

Your painting is lovely. Are you still loving the acrylics? I am going back and forth now between oil and acrylic. I really love them both.

I wanted to thank you for the mirror box from Uhaul suggestion, that is what I went with and the box only cost just over $4. Thank you!

I'm glad you found a box form them! That's the best place. (I actually don't know any other place to get boxes that large.)
I'm still going to watermark my images but I don't like it to distract from the painting. At least I can keep some from stealing them and printing them out. I also make sure the images are small files.

As for the acrylics...I'm still exploring them. I haven't had a chance to buy the supplies I need yet, but I think with some practice I can find a way to make them work for me! I looked at the artist you suggested and she's amazing! I couldn't find any info about her process though. I keep finding more and more using acrylics and they look like oils. I'm going to ask them what they use!

What an outrage, and China is notorious for stealing artistic properties like films and books.

These turned out lovely! I had to get out of the contest, with the wedding there was just too much going on. Love your work!

Hi Terra! I know, it is an outrage! The only problem is we're the ones they're selling to. It's a problem but I don't see it changing anytime soon. I try to buy from USA but it's hard. I'm sure if I checked most things in my house are probably made somewhere else.
Since we're a "global economy" and one world, shouldn't we all follow the same laws? At least for copyrights?

Thank you Enzie! I don't blame you for not keeping up with a wedding going on! I'm having trouble with it and I don't have anything out of the ordinary happening.
